Recently, the Jackery company just released news about their newest solar generator unit update, the Jackery 1000 Pro. It was just launched on the 31st of August in Germany at the Berlin Expo Center, so not many people have their hands on one yet.
However, you may be wondering if this new solar generator is worth it, or if there is just a lot of hype around the product for no reason. Don’t worry, we will go over some of the specific details in this review, so that you know how this generator is different from others, and what to expect with this model.
It has now made leaps and bounds with its specs, range, dimensions, performance, and usage, which make it comparable with other brands like the EGO Nexus and Bluetti, if it doesn’t surpass them.
What Makes This Generator Different Than Others in the Jackery Line?
Shape and Design
On the surface, the only real thing that makes your Jackery Pro 1000 Power Station different from the standard 1000 is that the handle is now retractable, and the shape is more angular.
Also, the cables that you get for charging are actually included in the Jackery. This brings your total weight to 26 pounds instead of 22, but it provides you with fewer things you have to carry. So you don’t have to worry about it still being portable.
- Full Solar Charge in 1.8 Hours: With an AC input up to 800W, the Explorer 1000 Pro takes 1.8 hours for wall outlet charge or full solar charge with 4*200W solar panels.
- Lighter, smaller, always enjoyable: The Explorer 1000 Pro features a foldable handle for easy carry. Save space for any on the go travel. Moreover, its innovative smart screen display shows 18 functioning modes with crystal clear viewing.
- All-Round Safety: Pure sine wave inverter delivers stable power with very little noise (46dB), protecting your equipment from damage.Causing no noise (46dB), the product also features a battery system (BMS) for a ultra-long battery life. The adjustable LED light is made to satisfy your outdoor needs.
- Dual 100W PD Fast Charge: The 2* 100W PD ports enable steady quick power for devices such as phones, iPads, drones and cameras. Equipped with multiple output ports (3* 1000W AC ports, 1* USB A and DC car port), the Explorer 1000 Pro supports charging 8 devices simultaneously at a capacity of 1002Wh
- Ultra-Long Standby: Lasts 10 years for 1 usage/week. The low self-discharge rate allows it to last 365 days from an 80% battery level, making it an excellent company for off-grid living and power outages.
- What's Included: 1* Jackery Explorer 1000 PRO Portable Power Station,1* AC Power Cord, 1* Car Charging Cable, 1* User Manual and 2* DC7909 to DC8020 Connectors.
Ways to Charge Devices
It seems that with this newest model, Jackery has moved towards more modern times. Instead of some plug-ins that don’t work for most devices, Jackery has designed this one with the future in mind.
There are now:
- 2 USB-A ports
- 2 USB-C ports (Now with 100W output instead of 18W)
- 3 AC outputs
- And a 12v car port
This gives you a total of eight outlets to plug in all of your devices. If you live or order from the EU, it was dropped down to two AC plugs for a total of seven outlets. So, no matter if you have multiple laptops, a MacBook, a phone, iPhone, iPad Mini, Samsung Galaxy, HTC, or some micro cord, you can charge everything at once, and get some fresh air with this battery bank.
Solar Panels
Not only did Jackery upgrade their solar generator game, but they upgraded their solar panels and solar charging as well. The new solar panels are 200W. They now have a 24.3% efficiency, which not only beats their previous panels but outperforms most other competitors.
The solar panels now also come with their own case and magnetic pads on the panels for easy carrying. They don’t take up more space than the original solar panels but easily deliver twice as much energy. They are a little heavier, though.
Not only do you have better solar panels, but Jackery also made it so you can work with a variety of solar panel setups. Instead of one DC input, you have two. This means you can handle a total of four solar panels.
Charging Speed
On the original Solar Jackery 1000, it could only be charged with two 100W solar panels. This meant it would often take eight or more hours for a full charge with solar panels.
For wall charging and car charging, it could still take seven hours or so. With the pro version, it takes under two hours to charge with the solar panels and wall plugin, and 4.4 hours with a car adaptor.
However, it is worth noting that there are two types of solar panels you can get. While the 4x SolarSaga 200W Solar Panels can charge the system in as little as 2 hours, you can also purchase a system with 2X SolarSage 80W Solar Panels. This version can still take about nine hours to charge.
Durability
Jackery stands behind this new product so much that they actually upped the warranty. Instead of a typical two-year warranty, you now get a five-year.
One of our biggest joys when hearing about this new setup is the increase in durability. With an IP98 rating on their solar panels, they are now officially considered water and dust-proof. This was one of our biggest gripes with the company before, and we are glad they managed to deliver.
Another feature they managed to change is how well the generator can handle temperatures. Now, they are designed to handle anywhere from 14 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, so even on hot and cold days, they should run without the danger of harming the generator.
Safety
To make sure that safety is involved, there is still a Battery Management System (BMS), and an inverter. These allow for stable power and battery protection. However, it is top shock-resistant to level nine, so you don’t have to worry about injuring yourself.
Lifetime
With most other Jackery products, the lifetime of the lithium-ion battery is 500 cycles. In case you don’t know, a cycle is considered to be a full charge and discharge.
Previous models would be able to handle about 500 charges before dropping down to 80% efficiency. Now, however, the Jackery Pro can handle 1000 charges before dropping efficiency.
This doubles the lifespan. Instead of two to three years before quality starts declining, you now have somewhere between four and six years.
In addition to being able to handle more cycles, the Jackery 1000 Pro can also handle a longer standby. Dubbed Ultra-Long Standby mode, the new model can handle holding a charge of around 80% for a whole year between uses. You never have to worry again about making sure it is topped off before going camping.
Display Screen
The display screen is much more detailed than it was previously. Not only does it come with three different levels of brightness to allow you to easily see it without being blinded, but it has a lot more features than the original.
Some of the features include:
- Battery power indicator
- AC power indicator
- Input power
- Remaining charge time
- Solar, AC, and Car charging indicator
- Low battery indicator
- Remaining battery percentage
- Output power
- Remaining battery percentage

What Makes This Generator the Same From the Regular Jackery 1000?
Power
Since both devices are set up to be the same size, they have the same power storage and capacity options. Though it is a Pro, it still provides 1000 watts of power and 2000 watts of surge power.
Price
The prices aren’t the exact same, to be fair. However, with as many features added as Jackery has done, the base price of only $100 more isn’t bad. The regular explorer 1000 is often around $999 without a solar panel bundle, and the 1000 Pro is at $1099.
However, if you want a bundle with solar panels, you are looking at $1,499 for the two SolarSaga 80 panels, or $3,999 for the four 200W solar panels.
Ways to Charge
While there are new outports that work better for modern times and cords, the inputs haven’t changed much. They are now built-in to the Jackery power stations, making them easy to use with any power supply, but you are still able to charge via AC outlet, car DC outlet, and the energy of the sun from their solar panel kit.
- Full Solar Charge in 1.8 Hours: With an AC input up to 800W, the Explorer 1000 Pro takes 1.8 hours for wall outlet charge or full solar charge with 4*200W solar panels.

What Comes With the Jackery Solar Generator 1000 Pro?
What the Jackery Solar Generator 1000 Pro comes with is nothing new. Like previous versions, you get an AC charger so that you can plug your solar panel directly into a wall outlet. Also, you will get a car adaptor so you can still charge your device via a car output.
How Long Can the Jackery 1000 Pro Charge Different Devices?
The Jackery Explorer 1000 and the Jackery 1000 Pro have the same power capabilities. This means that for the most part, they can charge things the same.
- Refrigerator (fridge)- 1.6 hours
- CPAP- 80 charges
- Coffee Maker- 1.5 hours
- TV- 13 hours
- Microwave oven- 1.2 hours
- Tower fan- 17 hours
- Laptop- 9 charges
- Electric blanket- 14 hours
- Electric heater- 2.5 hours
- Hair dryer- 0.9 hours
- Instant pot- 0.9 hours
- Electric kettle- 1 hour
They can charge phones, appliances, and a tablet as well, though specifications on how the 1002Wh units will handle them wasn’t something they discussed during their world release to the market. However, if you’ve owned one of the previous Jackery 1000 generators before, everything should charge the same as the basic power source hasn’t changed much.
Is the Jackery 1000 Pro Worth the Upgrade?
Whether the Jackery 1000 Pro is worth it depends on your needs. If you are already using a Jackery Explorer 1000, and find yourself using most if not all of the power when you use it, it is probably well worth the upgrade.
If you don’t need that much power, we would suggest waiting to see if they make smaller models with the improvements.
Additionally, if you just recently bought the Jackery 1000, there is no rush to get the Pro. While it does have new features, the old one still does just fine. It may be worth waiting a few years until your old Jackery isn’t working as efficiently.
However, no matter the reason you decide to buy this device, we are sure you won’t be disappointed.
When Can I Get the Jackery 1000 Pro?
Orders were available starting August 31st. However, due to high demand, a lot of the orders aren’t getting shipped out until late September.
We also haven’t seen signs of them in ordinary stores yet. So it might not be until the end of the year that you can easily pick one up from a store or purchase it from another place than Jackery’s website itself.
